“Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”
— Isaac Asimov
I’m starting a new project. Over the coming months, I’m going to be live-blogging the Bible. I’ll try to do one bit a day. It may be one verse. It may be one chapter. It depends on how I’m feeling, and what I have to say.
For ease of access, I’m going to use the Project Gutenberg text of the King James version of the Bible. I am open to using other versions of the Bible for specific passages, so if you’d like to discuss a passage from a different version, please include a link to the specific verse from Bible Gateway. That way, the text is available for all to see.
If you are a Christian, please be warned — I will pull no punches. I am not here to provide apologia. I may occasionally (or often) mock.
I am not mocking because it’s the Bible. I’m mocking because it’s an incoherent collection of ancient myths that convey a horrible morality. I’d do the same if I were live-blogging the Twilight books.
I challenge you to read along with me.
